Medically-supervised detoxification with round-the-clock nursing care by specialists in addiction treatment. We provide individually-tailored detox with medication management for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances. Daily physician or nurse practitioner visits. Counseling begins as soon as you are physically able.

For Families
Family participation is essential for lasting recovery. At Garden Oaks, family members, or friends who are like family, are encouraged to attend weekly family therapy sessions and weekend education and visitation. These sessions help your entire family understand addiction, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and heal together.
Weekend education and visitation at Garden Oaks include group sessions and family education. They are held every other week and are open to spouses, parents, siblings, and other supportive family members or friends who are like family.
Common Questions
Bring comfortable clothing for about a week, personal hygiene items, any prescribed medications in their original containers, a valid ID, and your insurance card. Leave valuables, electronic devices, large amounts of cash, and any substances at home. Our admissions team will provide a detailed packing list when you schedule your intake.
The length of residential treatment varies based on individual needs. Most clients spend 2-4 weeks in residential care after completing detox (4-6 days). For self-paying clients, we also offer 120-day extended treatment programs at a flat rate of $29,000. Your treatment team will recommend the appropriate length of stay based on your progress.
Yes. We encourage family involvement. Family therapy sessions are held weekly, and weekend education and visitation are offered every other week. Specific visitation policies will be discussed during your admission. Family participation significantly improves treatment outcomes.
Your treatment team will recommend a step-down plan, which typically includes PHP (day treatment), IOP (outpatient 3-4 days/week), and eventually aftercare. Our North Loop outpatient office is minutes from Garden Oaks, and we have 10 outpatient locations across Houston. Sober living is also available at our Montrose campus.
