Serving Conroe & Montgomery County

Real Treatment in a Real Texas Town

Conroe is the seat of Montgomery County and one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, but it still feels like a small town in many of the ways that count. The lake, the national forest, the historic downtown square, the Crighton Theatre, the working oil-and-gas families, the new families priced out of The Woodlands and Spring. It is its own place, not a suburb.

That is also the context for why we are here. Substance use in Conroe and the surrounding county does not look like a magazine cover. It looks like a Lake Conroe weekend that turned into a Lake Conroe Monday. It looks like a back injury and a refill that never tapered. It looks like the shop foreman, the contractor, the nurse, the parent, the high schooler who were all white-knuckling something private until it stopped working.

Our office on West Davis Street is built for that. Day and evening IOP, confidential intake, and a team that meets people where they actually live.

Your Outpatient Manager

Meet Agatha Sacks, MS, LCDC

Agatha is a Master's-level clinician with 12 years of experience in addiction treatment. She holds an M.S. in Psychology and is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas.

Before joining Positive Recovery, Agatha worked with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Montgomery County Probation, where she saw firsthand how substance use disorder intersects with family systems, trauma, and the justice system. That background shapes the way her team approaches care here in Conroe: clinically rigorous, but never moralizing.

"Addiction is a symptom of a greater issue, and with proper guidance and treatment, clients can learn to live sober lives."

What We Treat

Substance Abuse Treatment in Conroe

Around Conroe the pattern is usually alcohol first: Lake Conroe weekends, after-shift beers in the trades, and the slow drift from social to daily. We also treat a steady amount of opioid dependence that started with a work injury prescription, and meth remains a real problem in the rural communities north toward Willis and the national forest.

If withdrawal needs medical supervision, we set up detox at Garden Oaks in Houston and then hand you back to the Conroe team for outpatient care. Substance-specific details are here:

Alcohol Opioids Fentanyl Heroin Benzodiazepines Cocaine Meth Prescription Drugs
