How It Works

Three Steps

The promise is simple by design. Three things to do on your end. One thing to count on from us.

STEP 1

Complete your program

Finish the level of care you were admitted for. Detox, residential, PHP, or IOP, all the way through to a clinical discharge. Walking out early disqualifies the promise.

STEP 2

Follow discharge recommendations

Your clinical team builds an aftercare plan with you before you leave. Continuing care, therapy, medication, sober living, meetings. Stick to the plan as written.

STEP 3

If you relapse, come back

Anytime within one year of discharge. Return for a stabilization stay, typically 10 to 14 days, at no additional cost. Call admissions and we set it up.

Eligibility

Who Qualifies

The Private Pay Promise is built around clients who paid privately for their treatment and who completed their program in good standing. The qualifications are intentionally clear, so there are no surprises if the day comes that you need to use it.

Paid in full at admission. Treatment was covered by private pay at the time you entered the program.
Completed the full program. You stayed through to a clinical discharge rather than leaving against medical advice.
Followed discharge recommendations. Continuing care, therapy, medication management, or sober living as written into your discharge plan.
Return within one year of discharge. The promise window is the first 12 months after you complete the program.

The Return Stay

What's Included

A return stay is built around stabilization. You get back into the routines, the room, and the team that worked for you the first time, with no additional bill for the program itself.

10 to 14-day stabilization stay

Typical length of stay for a return. Length is evaluated at readmission and adjusted to what your recovery actually needs.

A residential stay, not a phone check-in

You come back on campus and back into the daily rhythm of residential care for the length of your stabilization stay.

Clinical and group programming

Therapy, group sessions, and the positive psychology curriculum. Tightened back into structure so you can reset.

Individualized support

Support in this program is individualized to get your recovery back on track. Your needs are evaluated at readmission and throughout your stay.

Updated discharge plan

A revised aftercare plan written with you before you leave the second time, with the new information from the return stay built in.

Alumni reconnection

The PRC alumni community stays open to you before, during, and after a return stay. Coming back does not cost you your place in it.

What's Not Included

We want this to be airtight, which means being honest about the edges. The promise does not cover everything, and the limits are written out clearly so you can plan around them.

Detoxification services are not included. If medical detox is required when you return, that step happens first as a separate level of care. Your stabilization stay begins once you are medically cleared for residential.
The promise covers the stabilization program itself. Ask admissions about anything outside it, such as care billed by outside providers, so you know exactly where the edges are before you return.
Transportation is not included. Getting to the facility for the return stay is your responsibility, although admissions will help coordinate when possible.
Insurance-funded original stays are not eligible. The promise is built specifically for clients whose treatment was private pay in full at admission.
Subsequent relapses beyond the first return are not covered. The promise applies to one return stay within the year after discharge. We will still work with you on a path forward, but that conversation will involve standard pricing or insurance.
Leaving before completing your program disqualifies the promise. Completing your program and following discharge recommendations are the eligibility bar.

The Treatment Assurance Program is built around private-pay clients who paid for their program in full at the time of admission. Insurance-funded stays follow a different financial structure and are not covered under this specific promise. Insurance clients are still welcome back at Positive Recovery and can re-verify benefits at any time.

The return stay is for stabilization. It does not include detoxification services. If detox is medically required when you return, that step happens first and your stabilization stay begins once you are medically cleared for residential care.

The Private Pay Promise covers one return stay within the first year after discharge. If you find yourself struggling again after that return, our admissions team will work with you on a path forward, including private-pay rates, payment plans, or insurance options. Call us. We do not turn alumni away.
