Program Nurse

Department: Nursing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Locations: Houston & Spicewood

The purpose of this position is to ensure the daily operations of the nursing department are maintained to promote quality of care to clients through assessment, medication management and direct client care.

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers quality client care through assessment, monitoring and communicating observations and findings with physicians and other members of the treatment team
  • Coordinates admissions with Admissions Department and obtains admission
    orders from physicians
  • Monitors Client self administration of medication
  • Promotes restoration of health, client and family education and serves as a client advocate
  • Maintains and adheres to established infection control/employee health program
  • Maintains compliance to all Positive Recovery policies and procedures, as well
    as, all state and accreditation standards
  • Coordinates with Medical Director, President, and Executive Director to keep all informed of current departmental activities, plans, and developments through both oral and written reports
  • Functions as a “house supervisor” in absence of other supervisory staff

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides detox assessments, history and physical reports.
  • Develops detox treatment plan
  • Coordinates emergency medical care for medical and psychiatric emergencies
  • Ensures that documentation on all clients meets company and regulatory
    standards
  • Leads CD education groups
  • Attends monthly staff meetings and required trainings
  • Serves on various organizational teams/committees and consults with departments as needed
  • Coordinates lab work with venipuncture and medical appointments and referrals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Desire to work with clients suffering from the disease of addiction
  • Experience with a 12-step program preferred
  • Proficient using general computer skills

Recovery Advocate

Department: Clinical

Hours: Night Shift

Job Location: Houston & Spicewood

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Recovery Advocate is a member of the multidisciplinary team who is directly involved in providing quality care to patients. The RA is responsible for providing structure for during and after hours and weekend activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Documents observations in the medical record and communicate client issues and concerns to the nursing/clinical and administrative staff
  • Serves as a role model to the clients, demonstrating an understanding of the fundamentals to a balanced recovery program
  • Coordinate client care and ensure that clients are in groups and aware of unit expectations
  • Coordinates admissions with the nursing staff to ensure the safety of the client and the client environment
  • Assists in emergency situations as directed
  • Understands and maintains confidentiality of patient information and records
  • Recognizes crisis situations and provides appropriate interventions based on training and experience
  • Escorts clients for meals, appointments or other related client activities
  • Facilitates or co-facilitates CD Educational groups
  • Monitors client self administration of medication
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attends monthly meetings or scheduled trainings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Drivers License
  • Combination of education and experience to equal one year
  • Experience with a 12 step program preferred
  • Proficient using general computer skills

Admissions Counselor/Admissions Counselor Intern

Department: Admissions

Reports to: Admissions Director

FLSA Status: non-exempt

Job Locations: Houston

The role of this position is to assist the Admissions Director in all aspects of the intake and assessment process.

Essential Functions:

  • Completes all phases of assessments and intakes, to ensure compliance with Department of State Health Services and Joint Commission standards and regulations and Positive Recovery standards
  • Answers intake calls and schedules appointments for assessments in a timely manner
  • Interfaces with referral sources ensuring that the source is promptly notified of admission and documents for follow up
  • Assists Utilization Review team with insurance verification
  • Ensures all admissions meet Texas Department of Insurance criteria
  • Communicates with QCC on all admissions if not a qualified credentialed counselor in order to ensure proper admission authorization is obtained
  • Develop rapport with potential clients including answering questions and concerns about treatment

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of direct clinical care experience
  • Counselor Intern or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or other qualified credentialed counselor equivalent
  • Experience with a 12 step program preferred
  • Proficient using general computer skills and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Admissions Assistant

Department: Admissions

Reports to: Admissions Coordinator/Clinical Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Locations: Houston

The Admissions Assistant, supports the directors and office leadership with coordination of admissions and operations for a residential facility, out-patient program or other business unit. This role is responsible for all coordination and facilitation of operations, admissions, and office administration.

Essential Functions:

  • Answers phones, checks voice mail and distributes messages to staff
  • Greet and check-in clients at Admissions desk
  • Follows emergency procedures and directives given, including communication protocols
  • Maintains, completes and ensures that logs, records and charts are updated, accurate and available to staff
  • Performs administrative tasks such as composing letters, data entry, filing and faxing
  • Maintains supply of all administrative documents, clinical forms and handbooks
  • Submits purchase orders and ensures office supply inventory is maintained
  • Maintains office equipment
  • Oversees petty-cash and submits receipts and ledger to accounting
  • Notifies administrative and clinical staff of all admits, discharges and room changes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an office setting
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office computer products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to timely and efficiently complete tasks and projects
  • Experience working in a healthcare or substance abuse environment preferred
