We are presently seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate Recovery Advocate for our state licensed and Joint Commission certified treatment center in Spicewood, TX.

Position Description:

The Recovery Advocate is a member of the multidisciplinary team who is directly involved in providing quality care to our clients. This critical role is key not only to the operational flow of the facility but to making a difference in the lives of our clients. The RA is responsible for providing structure for our clients during programming, after hours, and during weekend activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Documents client and group dynamic observations in medical records and communicates client issues and concerns to the nursing, clinical, and administrative staff.
  • Serves as a role model to the clients, demonstrating an understanding of the fundamentals of a balanced recovery program.
  • Coordinates client care and ensures that clients are in groups and aware of and in line with facility expectations.
  • Coordinates admissions and orientations with the nursing staff to ensure the safety of the client and the client environment.
  • Assists in emergency situations as directed.
  • Understands and maintains confidentiality of patient information and records.
  • Recognizes crisis situations and provides appropriate interventions based on training and experience.

  • Facilitates or co-facilitates CD Educational groups.
  • Monitors and documents client self-administration of medication.

Minimum Qualifications:

Program Nurse – Spicewood

Position Description:

The focus of this role is to ensure excellence in the daily operations of the nursing department by promoting quality of care to clients through assessment, medication management, and direct client oversight.

Job Location: Spicewood/Hill Country

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers optimum care through assessment, monitoring, and communication of observations and findings with physicians and other members of the treatment team.
  • Coordinates admissions with Admissions Department and obtains admission orders from physicians.
  • Promotes restoration of health, client and family education, and serves as a client advocate.
  • Maintains and adheres to established infection control/employee health program while ensuring compliance with all Positive Recovery policies and procedures, as well as all state and accreditation standards.
  • Coordinates with Medical Director, President, and Executive Director to keep all informed of current departmental activities, plans, and developments through both oral and written reports.
  • Functions as a “house supervisor” in absence of other supervisory staff.
  • Monitors client self-administration of medication.

Additional Responsibilities:

Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Manager – Spicewood

The Nurse Practitioner Nurse Manager ensures excellence within the daily operations of the Positive Recovery Center’s Nursing Department by promoting quality of care to clients through assessment, medication management, and direct client oversight. This position will also coordinate and communicate with nursing and other medical and clinical staff regarding medical and psychiatric issues to ensure that appropriate assessments and services are provided.

Essential Functions:

  • Consults with the treatment team regarding medical and psychiatric issues/concerns (including medication).
  • Provides 24-hour coverage for consultation and emergencies.
  • Completes documentation, including medical and psychiatric assessments and follow-up session progress notes.
  • Reviews medical documentation (history and physicals, lab reports, consultations) as appropriate and provides orders for follow-up care.
  • Works with Chief Medical Officer, Executive Director, Clinical Director, and President to develop and review standards of care and protocols.
  • Supervises daily operations of all nursing functions and oversees quality patient care provided by the Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Recovery Advocates.
  • Coordinates with leadership to establish protocols and develop best practices while advising on current nursing department activities, plans and developments through both oral and written reports.
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates staff training and development to educate and maintain quality of care consistent with, or exceeding industry standards.
  • Oversees the Infection Control/Employee Health Program within facility specific regions and assures the facility’s compliance with applicable standards, regulation, and laws.
  • Hires, trains, and develops assigned staff, and partners with Human Resources to maintain consistency as it relates to company policy.
  • Coordinates weekly Chemical Dependency Education groups led by nursing staff for and provides education for clients regarding dual diagnosis.
  • Maintains medical and pharmaceutical supplies at established par levels to ensure promotion of cost effectiveness.
  • Coordinates nursing staff scheduling and ensures accuracy of time for payroll and oversees monthly nursing staff meetings to communicate issues regarding procedures, processes, and overall departmental performance.
  • Serves on various organizational teams/committees and acts as a consultant to other departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience with supervisory experience
  • State of Texas licensed Registered Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within substance abuse treatment.
  • Proficient using general computer skills and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Position Description: The purpose of this position is to ensure excellence within the daily operations of the Positive Recovery Centers’ Nursing Department by promoting quality of care to clients through assessment, medication management, and direct client oversight.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans and monitors the delivery of quality patient care by the Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses.
  • Oversees quality patient care by the Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Recovery Advocates.
