Serving Central Austin from Riverside Drive

Real Recovery in the Live Music Capital

Austin runs hot. The fastest-growing major city in Texas, the state capital, a tech corridor, a festival town, a college town. Substance use lives in the same space, and asking for help can feel impossible when your social life, your career, and your weekend identity are tangled up in it.

Our office at 127 E. Riverside Drive sits in 78704, just across Lady Bird Lake from downtown and the Capitol, and a short drive from UT and the Domain. From here we serve all of Central and South Austin, and we run day and evening programs so that tech professionals, state employees, students, musicians, and service-industry workers can all keep their lives running while doing the real work of recovery.

You do not have to leave Austin, and you do not have to stop everything. You just have to start.

Your Outpatient Manager

Meet Justin Steen, LCDC

Justin is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas with more than 15 years of experience in addiction treatment. He has worked across the full continuum of care, from medical detox through long-term aftercare, gaining the kind of perspective that only comes from walking the road with hundreds of clients.

He was instrumental in creating an aftercare case management program built to support clients through the first full year of sobriety, with the explicit purpose of building the foundation that makes long-term recovery stick. That same focus on the long game shapes the way he leads the Austin office.

What We Treat

Substance Abuse Treatment in Austin

Most of what we treat in this office is alcohol, and Austin's version of it is specific: Rainey Street patios, festival weekends, corporate happy hours, and a music scene where the bar is the workplace. Behind that sit the counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl that have hit Travis County hard, the Adderall that got a student through finals, and the prescription that outlived the injury it was written for.

If detox needs to come first, we arrange it at our Hill Country campus in Spicewood or at Garden Oaks in Houston, then bring you back into IOP here on Riverside. Start with whichever substance fits your situation:

Alcohol Opioids Fentanyl Heroin Benzodiazepines Cocaine Meth Prescription Drugs

No. Federal confidentiality rules for substance use treatment (42 CFR Part 2) go further than standard HIPAA, and we never contact an employer. If you decide to use FMLA or short-term disability, you control every document that gets released, and our admissions team can tell you exactly what an HR department actually sees versus what stays sealed.

Yes. UT is a 5-minute drive across Lady Bird Lake from our office, and we see UT undergrads, graduate students, and law school students regularly. We also work with students from St. Edward's, ACC, Texas State, and out-of-state schools home for breaks. Our team handles young adult intake with parents involved at the right level, with the client's consent, and we can coordinate teletherapy continuity when students return to campus.

We are at 127 E. Riverside Drive, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78704, just south of Lady Bird Lake. From I-35, take the Riverside exit. From MoPac (Loop 1), exit at Lake Austin Boulevard or Barton Springs. Most Central Austin addresses are 10 to 15 minutes away. Hours are Monday through Thursday 9am-9pm and Friday 9am-5pm.
