Leadership
President ยท Certified Addiction Registered Nurse
Julie is an original partner in founding Positive Recovery Centers. She brings twenty-seven years of clinical, operational, and financial leadership in addiction treatment, paired with a working clinician's perspective from her first years as a registered nurse in Philadelphia.
Julie began her nursing career in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the early 1990s, working in hospitals and managed care organizations. Her clinical specialization quickly centered on substance use disorders and psychiatry, two areas she has stayed inside of for the entire arc of her career.
Before Positive Recovery, she served as President of Sobriety Matters and as Regional Vice President for the Texas region of Elements Behavioral Health, one of the nation's largest providers of substance abuse treatment and behavioral health services. In that role she carried operational and clinical accountability for a multi-site footprint across the state.
Julie was one of the original partners who founded Positive Recovery Centers. Her contribution to the founding team was the rare blend that the field actually needs: a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse credential that anchors every clinical decision in patient care, combined with the operational and financial discipline required to build a sustainable multi-site treatment organization.
Julie's professional focus runs across program development and implementation, clinical and business management, and staff development. In practical terms, that means she has stood up new programs from scratch, written the systems that keep them running, and trained the clinical teams that deliver care to clients.
She remains an active member of The International Nurses Society on Addictions, where she stays connected to the broader community of nurses working in substance use treatment across the country.
Outside of her work at Positive Recovery, Julie serves as the Texas State Chair for the Addiction Policy Forum, advocating for policy that improves treatment access and outcomes. She is an active advocate for the Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses, which helps nurses with substance use disorders get into recovery and back to safe practice, and a community partner with Facing Addiction with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. She also serves on the board of The Recovery and Resilience Foundation.
As President, Julie holds clinical and operational oversight across all Texas locations, including the full continuum of medical detox, residential, PHP, IOP, sober living, and aftercare. She partners daily with the clinical and admissions teams to keep the patient experience consistent across every site.
