Supportive Outpatient Program (SOP)
Our Supportive Outpatient Program (SOP) is designed to provide individual counseling as well as an opportunity to navigate early recovery, often after completing an outpatient program such as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Our SOP focuses on clients continuing on their path of recovery, and provides a safe, supportive structure to reinforce positive behaviors, strengthen relationships, and promote healing and growth.
Aftercare Services
Aftercare offers essential support at a critical time in recovery, with regular structured group meetings and opportunities for sober social engagement. In Aftercare, you’ll receive valuable feedback and encouragement from peers with group meetings that are hosted and led by a licensed counselor. Michele Criddle, LMFT, AMA, LCDC
Outpatient Manager and Primary Counselor
Michele is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist – Supervisor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. At Positive Recovery – North Loop, she is the Clinical Director and a primary counselor. She specializes in therapeutic services for individuals and families who desire treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
In clinical practice since 2013, Michele has worked in substance abuse treatment facilities, psychiatric hospitals, federal detention programs, and private practice helping clients heal from trauma, addiction, and mental health concerns. Michele has a special interest in correlation of life developmental influences and trauma and the impact on brain function, addictive behaviors, mental health, and interpersonal relationships. She works from a holistic approach guiding clients through the process of balancing life, finding purpose, and overcoming life obstacles.
Michele is passionate about providing hope and optimism to individuals and families who are experiencing substance abuse and mental health challenges. By allowing clients to discover their strengths, dreams, and hope, the clinical team at Positive Recovery – North Loop is dedicated to working with clients to improve and heal their lives. Lucia De Paoli, LCDC
Outpatient Manager and Primary Counselor
Lucia De Paoli, is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with an Associates in Behavioral Applied Sciences. She has worked in the substance abuse field for the last 15 years, working as a clinician in private practice, working in residential treatment facilities, and volunteering to mentor women in recovery. She is passionate about how recovery from life and addiction allows the best moments in life to be experienced and wants her clients to have that opportunity.
Lucia’s first years in the field of Substance Abuse treatment was served at Volunteer’s of America. There she gained valuable exposure and experience to the difficulty people experience with overcoming addictions and personal traumas. It is here that she first recognized the importance of treating multiple factors, such as co-dependency, domestic violence, and trauma along with the substance abuse addiction.
While working in her private practice, Lucia implemented her professional interests of love addiction, and issues faced by adult children of alcoholics and how these factors contribute to substance abuse. She engaged clients in exploring their histories with depth and clarity providing holistic treatment using her alternative therapy certifications, such as her Certification in Soul Collage.
In 2014 -2022, Lucia assumed the role of Senior Program Director, at Santa Maria Hostel – Jacquelyn. She was thrilled to be in this challenging and rewarding role. Santa Maria allowed Lucia the opportunity of professional growth and pursuit of her interests for helping women with domestic violence, sex trafficking, trauma, and substance abuse. She is proud that she was part of such an important entity of the Houston and Texas treatment community.
In February 2018, Lucia co-presented “Stepping into the LCDC World: What an LMFT needs to know”, at the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Therapist, where she was recognized for her discussion of how collaboration between clinicians can support the goal of substance abuse recovery.
Lucia expresses that she has immense gratitude to the opportunity to provide services to others and appreciates the ability to live her life with this purpose. She intends to continue to work in the field as long as the Universe sees fit for her to do so!
